The Spirit of Sankofa

In the Akan tradition of West Africa, Sankofa teaches us:
“It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten.” Here, we return to the body.
We return to the breath.
We return to the wisdom of our ancestors. Yoga Sankofa is a reclamation of joy, a ritual of remembrance, and a path toward healing that holds space for every body—Black, Brown, White, Indigenous, Queer, Mama, Elder, and Healer alike.
